AURI’s activities are directed to:
- represent the interests of Ukrainian community before the people and Government of Ireland and Ukraine;
- unite Ukrainians from all over the Ireland;
- identify and addresses the educational and cultural needs of Ukrainians in Ireland;
- promote the linkage with Ukraine;
- and develop socio-cultural integration into the Irish society.
The priority of the Association is the creation and maintenance of Ukrainian schools in order to preserve and develop the Ukrainian language and culture, as well as providing a Ukrainian environment for children with Ukrainian roots or Ukrainian origin. AURI has launched a “Native School” - Saturday schools in Dublin and in Waterford to study Ukrainian language, literature, history and culture. It is planned to initiate a cooperation with the International Ukrainian school in order to provide possibilities for Ukrainian children to obtain a secondary education, whose parents are temporarily abroad.
Members of the Association vigorously work on organizing cultural events for the Ukrainian society living in Ireland and for anyone interested in Ukraine and its cultural heritage.
AURI actively liaises with the Ukrainian World Congress and the World Congress of Ukrainian Youth Organizations, Ukrainian World Coordinating Council, and the European Congress of Ukrainians.
