Conclusions of the Council of the EU on Ukraine, adopted on February 10, 2014, have been taken into consideration by Ukraine.
We point out a generally balanced and constructive position of the European Union concerning the assessment of the events in Ukraine and of further development of the relations between Ukraine and the EU on the basis of comprehensive dialogue and collaboration.
The Government of Ukraine shares major part of the approaches to the settlement of the political crisis in Ukraine, laid out in the Conclusions, and in particular: finding a democratic solution through a peaceful and inclusive dialogue, abstaining from violence and radical actions by all parties, providing respect of the fundamental human rights and liberties, maintaining the peaceful nature of demonstrations.
We once again confirm the steadiness of Ukraine’s course towards European integration, the basis of which is the implementation of socio-political and socio-economic reforms, aimed at achieving the best European standards.
The steps that are now taken by the European Union in concert with international community and international financial institutions in order to provide some assistance are of paramount importance.
We welcome EU’s openness to the continuation of a strategic discussion about the final goal of the multi-faceted and ambitious relations between Ukraine and the EU, which was signaled by the Conclusions of the Council of the EU.
