Since 2015, 84 scientists and 9 author teams from 13 countries have applied for the Prize: Austria, Finland, Georgia, Israel, Spain, Italy, Canada, Germany, Poland, Serbia, the UK, the USA, and Ukraine. Humanities scientists compete for it, and applicant research papers for the Prize must be of international importance, belong to the social sciences and humanities and be based on the principles of scientific understanding of historical or contemporary processes in culture, politics, and social life of Ukraine.
The Ivan Franko International Prize successfully provides positive information about Ukraine in scientific circles, stimulates scientists from different countries to explore Ukraine and integrates the Ukrainian humanities into the world.
