On 3 April 2014 the Ambassador of Ukraine to Ireland Sergii Reva met with the Secretary General of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland David Cooney.
The Ambassador briefed on the situation in Ukraine following the Russian aggression against Ukraine and its illegal annexation of Crimea.
The Secretary General reconfirmed Ireland’s strong support for the unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemned Russian aggression and the illegal annexation of Crimea.
Mr. Cooney welcomed Ukraine’s recent signature of the political elements of the Association Agreement with the European Union and confirmed Ireland’s continuing support for the European aspirations of Ukraine.
During the meeting other topical issues of bilateral relations were also discussed.
