On 8 June 2012 on the occasion of the inauguration of the UEFA Euro 2012 the embassies of Ukraine and Poland in Ireland held a joint event of the live broadcast of the opening ceremony.

The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland David Cooney, Lord Mayor of Dublin Andrew Montague, diplomats, representatives of political, business and social circles of Ireland. The event was covered by leading Irish media.
