On 8 May 2012 H.E. Mr. Sergii Reva Ambassador of Ukraine to Ireland had a meeting with Mr.John Murphy, Secretary General of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation of Ireland.

During the conversation an upward trend in bilateral trade and economic cooperation was pointed out. The parties agreed on the need for broadening a legal basis between the two countries in this sphere. Primarily it refers to the celebration in the near future of the Convention on the Avoidance of Double Taxation (initialled on 23 June 2011 in Dublin) which will promote further investment and trade growth between Ukraine and Ireland.

A special attention was paid to the perspectives of the establishment of direct flights between the two countries with a view of boosting bilateral tourism and business contacts.
