During the meeting the current agenda of Ukraine – EU relations was discussed. The parties noted the importance of completion of the negotiations on Ukraine – EU Association Agreement. The Irish side confirmed its support to European aspirations of Ukraine.

The Parties noted with satisfaction ascending character of developments in bilateral relations, in particular the interparliamentary contacts.

During the meeting the importance of conducting next October of general elections in Ukraine in accordance with European standards was also stressed. Dominic Hannigan assured that the Oireachtas would explore the possibility of sending its observers to the elections in Ukraine.
