The Vice-Prime-Minister of Ukraine, Mr Hennadii Zubko, took part in the Conference.
The Taoiseach, Mr Leo Varadkar, welcomed the participants of the event. Executive Director of IEA, Mr Fatih Birol, informed about the IEA`s efforts aimed at elaborating a common policy in order to ensure energy efficiency worldwide, as well as assisting governments in implementing up to date experiences to this end.
Speaking at the Conference Hennadii Zubko focused on Ukrainian government`s activities aimed at reforming Ukraine`s energy sector, in particular on forming the legislative basis to ensure the energy efficiency, modernising communal enterprises, launching an institute of responsible owner and energy audit market and Energy Efficiency Fund etc.
Particular attention was payed by the participants to issues of applying digital technologies with the aim of raising the efficiency and energy market analysis, which should ensure better control over and optimisation of energy consumption etc.
Representatives of more than 50 countries took part in the conference.
On the margins of the Conference Hennadii Zubko met with the Minister for Communications, Climate and Environment of Ireland, Mr Richard Bruton, and the US Under Secretary of Energy, Mr Mark W.Menezes.
