On 5 June 2014 an opening ceremony of the art exhibition "Shades and reflections of Ukraine", which featured works by Ukrainian artists living in Ireland, was held in the European Union House in Dublin.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of Dáil Éireann, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland, the diplomatic corps, Irish public and the Ukrainian community in Ireland.
Opening the event, the Head of European Commission Representation in Ireland Barbara Nolan emphasized the support of the EU to Ukraine, stressed the active dynamics of relations between Ukraine and the EU and expressed the hope that EU-Ukraine Association Agreement will be signed in the nearest future.
Ambassador of Ukraine Sergii Reva stressed that the opening of the exhibition devoted to Ukraine in the EU House in Dublin was quite symbolic: on the one hand, it confirmed once again that Ukraine historically, culturally and spiritually belonged to the European family of nations, on the other hand, it was a gesture of solidarity and a sign of a continuous political support to Ukraine in this very challenging time of its history when the Ukrainian nation was fighting for its right to choose its European future confronting the military aggression from Russia.
