On 30th September 2017 the Embassy of Ukraine participated in the Annual National Famine Commemoration in memory of those who suffered during the Great Famine in Ireland in 1845-1852.

With the participation of the Taoiseach of Ireland, H.E. Leo Varadkar, this year ceremony took place in Ballingarry, Co Tipperary, where the national monument of Ireland "The Famine Warhouse 1848" is located.
Chargè d'Affaires of Ukraine in Ireland Mrs. Olena Shaloput took part in the wreath laying ceremony in memory of all those who suffered loss during the Irish Famine and for those who continue to endure famine and hunger today.
