Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Ireland H.E. Mr. Sergii Reva was received by the President of Ireland H.E.Mrs.Mary McAleese at Áras an Uachtaráin.
The Head of Irish state expressed her solidarity with the Ukrainian nation on the occasion of the anniversary of the Chornobyl tragedy. President McAleese informed that she planned to participate in commemorative events devoted to victims of Chornobyl to take place at the Farmleigh House in Dublin on 21 April 2011.
From his part the Ambassador thanked for support that Irish state rendered to civil and non-governmental organisations in their activities aimed on rehabilitation of children from regions affected by radiation, providing equipment for Ukrainian medical services, trainings and consultations for Ukrainian specialists etc.
During the meeting the current developments in Ukraine and Ireland were discussed as well as state and perspectives of bilateral cooperation. President McAleese reiterated Ireland’s constant support to the European integration course of Ukraine.
